All is well.

I’m fine after getting hit by the car ohhh… like a week ago. The bike was all fixed by the next evening after a completely aggravating afternoon of me not fixing it correctly the first (and second) time (or third). I missed my 10k that I was supposed to run the next morning because I was sore. I might have also been looking for an excuse not to run it at all since I kind of lost the motivation to run after I didn’t have the big goal to be working towards. That and my knees and shins were really hurting really bad. I think I was pushing myself too hard after living a sedentary lifestyle for such a long time and then jumping right into it. After a certain point I stopped feeling good and started hurting instead. I’m taking it slower on the running part going shorter distances on consecutive days and that seems to be working better. I’ve made a new training log here for those of you who were watching that (I’m pretty sure it’s just my uncle Mike). I liked the Motionbased site but they got bought by Garmin and are going to be shut down soon and the new site they have sucks. Not to mention both the old and new sites are both flaky and just don’t work sometimes. Anyway I got pissed off so I decided to just host it myself where I can fix it if it’s broken. It’s not as fancy as the other one but it gets the point across… and the point is? Oh I don’t know, it’s neat to look at the maps?

Went down to Columbus on Saturday for the Korgie… get together? reunion? I don’t know what to call it. Saw the family, ate some food, went home. Happy fathers day to my dad… I guess it was 2 days ago technically since it’s Tuesday according to the clock. It was only yesterday to me since my days are all screwed up. I don’t have anything else for today, I’m in a writing funk right now where I don’t really feel like updating this site much. I think of good things things to write about but forget what they were before I get the motivation to put it up here.

P.S. I finally got my Bush Bucks! Hooray for bankrupting the treasury some more!

  1. Ummm yeah, all of my Bush Bucks went to doctor bills…bummer. I was hoping at least for a new car or a speed boat or a castle on the hill with a deep moat or something like that………….right…

  2. I do look at your training log! … as an up-and-coming old man I like to live vicariously through your experiences. I admit I’m an endomorphine junky and just the thought of long runs on trails …

    U.M.

  3. I think I’m the wrong person to live vicariously through! As for long runs… well I’m having better luck right now with short ones, plus on short runs the dog can go with me (he doesn’t like to go more than 2 or 3 miles before he goes from running beside me to me dragging him because he’s tired).
