I ran the Thunder Run 5k this morning after work. I was hoping to set a new personal best and I was doing well until I got a bad side stitch which slowed me down about halfway through. I ended up running exactly as fast as I said I would when I was asked how well I thought I would do. I said I would finish with about a 9:20 per mile pace and I’ll be dammed if that isn’t the exact pace that I ran. I think I need to do a different type of training or something to make me faster. There’s lots of things that I could do but I tend to stop doing them when the distance gets to be more than a couple miles. Anyway I saw Chuck and his wife Joy there at the race, Joy was running, Chuck was there for support, he won’t run because he runs like a fairy and everyone laughs at him. Didn’t see anyone else that I knew but there was lots of people there. There is usually at least a couple.

Jess and I went over to my friend Kasey and Shannon’s house this evening for a barbecue and also to celebrate their kid’s second birthday. They have been living in their new house for over a year and I have never seen it. Isn’t it weird how fast time flies once you are an adult and how slow it went when you were a kid? Just something that I have been observing.
Looks like my landlord is ignoring us again so the extension on the lease is probably a no go which mans the place in Roca is probably out. Have to look around for something in Southwest Lincoln which is better for my commute but worse for Jessica.
Only 27 days until football season starts! It doesn’t seem like it should be Fall yet. I’ve already started my Winter beard, I don’t know why, I just felt like it. Jessica and I will probably go to a game, don’t know which one yet, maybe one of the cheaper out of conference games, North Dakota State will be an easy one to tickets for, might even be able to get some for free if we are lucky. We will see.
