Goodbye Facebook, I hardly knew ye.

Maybe I didn’t know Facebook but it certainly knew me. I used a script to delete everything that I’ve done on there and it ended up deleting over 3100 items, and I thought that I didn’t really do much on there. I actually deleted a bunch of stuff a few years back so over the seven years or so that I’ve had an account there were much more than 3100 interactions. When I say “delete” I just mean delete it from mine and everyone else’s view, I know full well that everything I’ve ever put on there, every post, every comment, every picture, every conversation, every search for someone whose only purpose was to be a creeper on their life, trying to find bikini pictures of someone I thought was hot, or peeking into the lives of people I hate, secretly hoping something bad happened to them is saved on their servers for posterity. I just don’t feel the need to be connected to everyone I’ve ever met, people were meant to grow apart and new people are meant to come into your life. Plus, it kind of makes you feel bad about your own life and makes it into a competition by making you compare your behind the scenes life with all it’s ups and downs with the highlight reels of people you should have forgotten about years ago. Anyway, I’m done with it. I’ve deleted every single thing on there except for my profile picture and am only keeping it open to syndicate my website when something new gets put up there. I haven’t looked at it since the new year started, deleted the app from my devices and that is just fine with me. If you need to contact me don’t do it on Facebook because I won’t see it anymore.

Jessica and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary on the 5th. We actually didn’t do anything on the day of since I was at work for 14 hours that day but on Tuesday we went and got a hotel room in town with a jacuzzi in the room and had Jessica’s mom watch X for us for the night. We went out and saw the new Hobbit movie in the theaters and went out for a dinner, I had the steak and Jessica had shark. I thought about getting the shark too but I know that I like steaks, I had no idea if I like shark so I didn’t want to chance it. I tried a bite of Jessica’s and it was good, I’m still glad I ordered the steak. Here’s to 50 more honey.

Back to work again in the morning. It seems like no matter how much time you have off it goes way too fast. I work 3 and am off 4 and the 4 days off just fly by and the 3 on drags. I have a feeling that it would be this way even if I worked one day and was off 6. In fact I know this is the case because I had a job like that years ago where I got there at 5pm on a Friday night and was done for the week on Sunday morning at 6am and got paid for a 40 hour week. Still seemed like it lasted forever. Things are going pretty well being the man at work. I was worried about how I would handle things but honestly directing people and getting the stuff done without the pressure getting to me hasn’t been all that much of an issue, the only issue really has been the extreme cold weather combined with the very long days which really wears on you pretty quick. You get pretty miserable being out in -30 wind chill from 10:30 in the morning until around 7 at night without getting much of a break to warm up. At least this work week(end) will be pretty warm and pleasant.

  1. I’m so glad you guys took time to go out and celebrate your anniversary. Sorry to see you leave facebook (it was easy for me to message you guys all at once about stuff). It’s ok, I still have your email…and we can Skype too. I would like to Skype with Alexander some time soon if we could set up a time, ok?
It’s good to hear that you’re doing well being the boss, I knew you would. Too bad you have to be outside in the cold though.
Well, say hi to Jess for me and give X big kisses from Gramma. Love you guys!

    1. Set up a time with Jessica if you want to skype with the boy over the weekend since I’ll be gone, a lot of the time I skype him from work before he goes to bed to tell him goodnight because he doesn’t really get to see me for three days straight.
