Got a new place.

Well I went and got a new apartment today. If my credit holds up and they don’t reject me. It’s at that Ruskin Place that I was talking about before. I got a pretty good deal on it because I told them I would take the year lease. I took the cheapest one they had at $530 a month but there was no deposit and $205 a month off the 1st and 2nd months rent. Still have to pay the $200 pet fee and the $10 a month pet rent but overall I came out $940 ahead of what I thought I would have to pay just to get in the door. I might come out ahead of what I am paying now because trash, water and sewer is included and the electricity will most likely be less than I am paying now. I will have to test if I can wirelessly “borrow” someones net connection too. That would save me like $44 a month for that. It is an apartment complex. I’m sure someone has an unsecured wireless router within range. Hell even Pat can get a signal from someone and he lives in Genoa. [EDIT: I took a quick drive through the complex with the laptop running NetStumbler and there were about 15 unsecured routers in the complex just by driving in a quick circle and leaving. So I should be able to get the free net access from at least one of them.] Plus the place has a pool and theres a lot of college people that live there. Should be nice in the summer.

Speaking of Pat I set him up with his own blog here on my domain. It’s at pat.fightingpolish.com. I told him to mess with it and don’t be afraid of breaking it because I can fix it. Well he already broke the photo gallery that took me an hour to set up heh. Oh well I suppose that is the only way that he will learn how to make it work the way he wants. Sucks to have to fix it though. Especially when I am not that familiar with the whole gallery program. On mine I just set it up enough to get it working with no problems and then I left it alone. I didn’t care that it was plain I just wanted someplace to show the pictures I had.
