How goes it?

Nothing much new with me. I’ve been sick for the last 5 or 6 days but now I’m feeling better. The marathon in Olathe is 4 days away now and it looks like I’m not going to get good weather for it like I had hoped. Looks like a possibility of rain, 20-30 mph winds and a high in the low to mid 40’s and below freezing wind chills at race start. So much for an enjoyable day and a good race time. Looks like all I’ll be shooting for is a finish after expending an inordinate amount of energy running into the wind and not moving all that fast. Crapola.

Other than that I’m not up to much. I hate Statistics. I guess I can see why it is a requirement but it still sucks and so far I’m not a fan of the teaching style of the professor, which seems to be to do no teaching at all and then put questions on the quizzes about topics that haven’t been covered.

I guess I could write more but I’m not feeling all that literary tonight. My next post will most likely be after the marathon so at least I’ll have some photos and something different than the normal wintertime drivel to post.

  1. Yea I just looked and now there’s snow in the forecast after raining for the 2 days before. Honestly, I’d take the snow over the rain if I have to run because wet feet means bad bad blisters. I guess I’ll get both. Wet cold feet with blisters. Score! What I really wanted is not a lot of wind but I’m not going to get that either. Now the wind chill isn’t forecasted to go above freezing all day.

  2. Well I just don’t know about you guys…I think you might be a little insane. Just make sure you dress warm for your run, I know I will be in winter clothes (I have a good heater in the car too). I am up for a road trip though…I just hope that we don’t get that snow storm.

  3. Can’t dress too warm or I’ll overheat. Made that mistake at my last race. It will have to be a balance. I don’t know what I will be wearing exactly yet, I’ll have to go through my gear and decide.

  4. The national weather service is calling for 4-8 inches on Saturday. The local NBC forecaster is talking about the possibility of 15:1 snow ratios (20 inches!) and thundersnow with snowfall at 2-4 inches an hour.

I understand there are some recruiters thinking about flying down from an Inuit college in the Yukon to see what kind of snowrunners we’ve got. Better bring Bryan along.
