I never knew that the 12th man…

…was the guy wearing stripes. That game against aTm was such a bunch of crap. 16 penalties for us versus 2 for them when previously aTm was something like 117th in the nation in penalties??? It’s amazing how everyone has been having miraculously clean games against us, I think when you look at the stats our opponents have had almost the lowest number of penalties in the country, but only when playing us! Come on! I mean sometimes you get some bad calls but damn, this is just getting ridiculous! Of course I had to talk smack to my aTm friends beforehand, and it’s always fun to eat crow after doing that. Fine, take the win. I still won’t say that they beat us though. If you’ve got the home crowd, 2 turnover advantage, a 16 to 2 penalty advantage with ridiculous calls at key times, the opposing star quarterback hurt and playing with the third string backup who is ineffective as always and you only win by 3… well enjoy the win and the rest of your time in the Big Texas Conference while it lasts. In 2015 the current Big 12 TV contract will end and Texas will go independent, leaving everyone else to join Conference USA or the MAC. The only thing that I ask of aTm now is to beat Texas in it’s last regular season game and knock them out of a bowl game. If you guys can do that I will retain the general affinity for the aTm program that I have had for years since my time in the Air Force because of my friends who were fans. Chris, I still owe you 9 punches to the stomach for the 9 points you guys scored.

What’s everyone doing for Thanksgiving? I’ll be hanging out with the animals by myself I guess. Jessica is leaving today to go back home to her parents, she might be back Friday. I have to work all week. No one really lives close enough for me to make the trip down, do our thing and then get back in time to go to work. Plus most people have their Thanksgiving meal at around noon anyway and that is like trying to wake up and go eat a big meal at 3am for the rest of the world. I would rather sleep. At least I get triple time for Thursday and Friday which makes for a very nice check. Someday maybe I can be a daywalker again like everyone else and live a normal life. Someday…

School is going a lot better than when it first started. I got my point across that the whole point of doing it is to learn concepts that we can apply in the future, not memorize, repeat, and then promptly forget. I’m finding this class to be relatively easy, this week the only thing we have to do is write a two page business report with our recommendations on fixing a hypothetical “broken shift”, instead of all the reading, quizzes and discussion board stuff. Pssshaw… easy. I need to get my bullshit motor churning and I can blow through that in about a half hour or less. I should probably put a little more time into it though since it’s worth 20% of my grade though. I want to graduate Summa Cum Laude but I’m just having trouble with, you know… giving a crap?

Enjoy your holiday everyone.

  1. Most likely we are just staying home…I’ll probably look for a couple of nice steaks to cook for us instead of doing the big turkey dinner thing. I’m thinking about having something for our family for Christmas instead. I’ve got Christmas weekend off, so maybe then, we’ll see how it goes. Anyway, sorry you have to work on Thanksgiving…I have to work at 5am the day after. If I didn’t have to work, I wouldn’t be leaving the house on that day…too many crazy people out. OK, love ya, say hi to Jess for me when you see her. Bye.

  2. I’m not leaving the house that day either, I’ll wake up and watch the football game and then go to work. Looks like Christmas Day in the evening will work for me since I have that night off, I get off work at 6 that morning. I doubt we will be putting up any kind of tree or doing anything at home since that is about when we will be moving and everything will be packed up. We are going to be doing a late Christmas with Jessica’s family when we go up there to drop the dog off around New Years before we leave for the Vegas trip out of Grand Island. That’s about it for our plans.
