Potty Power!

Well we are finally wrist deep into the potty training process with Alexander. We dabbled a bit with it here and there to see if he was reaching the point where he was physically able to do it, but Mommy and I had to finally bite the bullet and go full bore, 100% commitment ourselves. He’s doing ok, he had a couple successful poops and quite a few pees but he definitely has a LOT of accidents with wearing the underwear so far. I’ve gone through 6 or 7 pairs by 10am this morning. He pretty much has to run around in just underwear most of the time and then he ends up peeing all over the floor but that’s the only way that we have found that he will consistently tell us if he needs to go or that he is going. There’s been a lot of steam cleaning of the carpets but he’s getting better at not having the huge accidents and is just getting the underwear wet a little bit and then putting the rest in the toilet. He’s also got himself a potty chart hanging up on the wall in the bathroom and every time he goes he gets to pick out another sticker to add and with 10 stickers he gets a prize. He’s into that but the prizes don’t come fast enough for his taste. Patience, patience patience. I’ll be glad when this is over with.
