Silence is golden but duck tape is silver.

Had a pretty good time last night, Jessica and I went to Shoguns for dinner because she has been trying to get me to eat sushi for a long time now. Well I gave it my best shot and… I don’t have to eat sushi ever again. A lot of people love the stuff but I pretty much hated it. It just didn’t go down very well at all and I had some trouble even holding it down. The next thing that I have to try is Thai… only this time I’m not allowed to complain about it if I don’t like it. Will do!

Afterward we went to Duggan’s Pub to go see a couple of people that I work with play a show. Dave plays in a South American flute band called Kusi Taki and Lloyd plays country, I don’t know that he really had a band name this time, it was just billed as Legendary Lloyd McCarter. Diverse audience for both of those kinds of music but it was pretty fun. There was a lot of people there that I knew, a whole lot of people who I didn’t know but also work at Duncan were there as well. A pretty good crowd overall. We had to cut the night short since Jessica had to work in the morning but it was a good time. Here’s a couple short clips just to get an idea of what they were like.

Here’s a few photos that I blatantly stole from Brenda. I need to make Jessica stop making that weird sideways face every time someone takes a picture because she does it in almost every single photo that ever gets taken.

I’ve been sick pretty much all week, even took Wednesday night off. I could have gone in to work, I wasn’t on my deathbed or anything. I think it was more just not wanting to go in. That’s the nice thing about my work, there is no sick days, you just get a big lump of days off that you can use for being sick, vacation, personal reasons, or whatever. I wish everyplace would go that route. People who have sick days almost never use them when they are sick, it’s almost always a lie to get the day off. I know this because no one where I work calls in sick at the last minute and leaves everyone else hanging unless they are really sick. It’s a dramatic difference in absenteeism. Anyway, Ed said he would work for me because he wanted the overtime so I let him have it.

We signed up for the Leprechaun Chase 10K on the 13th of next month as the first race of the year. The women get a 5 and a half minute head start and then the men try to catch them. If a woman wins the race all the women who entered get a free drink and if a man wins the race then all the men do. Sounds like fun, hope the weather warms up a little.

Speaking of the weather, I am so damn sick of this stupid winter weather. I went to Wal-Mart at about 3 in the morning because… well I get bored when I’m off work and there’s no one else awake. Anyway, I was turning the corner and I there was no tire adhesion and I slid and slammed the tire into the curb and screwed up my rim. DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! Stupid ass expensive new car! I miss my crap truck where I could drive it through a wall and not care. Everything for that stupid car is an expensive pain in the ass. I tried to get some brighter headlights for it but when I went to install them I learned that you have to take the tires off and pull the wheel wells to change the damn headlights! WTF. Since I have no garage and it never stops snowing that will have to wait. I’ll take the rim in and have it repaired sometime I guess, a new one would cost a fortune, that and it would cost extra to swap out the stupid pressure sensor in the rim. Hopefully the tire isn’t cut or gouged, I didn’t see anything but it’s hard to tell when everything is covered with winter slop.

Calmness… positive thoughts… negativity breeds negative things… positivity breeds positive things… Good words of wisdom. I overheard Lloyd say that before his show. He’s right.
