so…now what?

Greetings all. Steve gets to go with me to Beatrice tomorrow. The park is getting a town tourism award for the project I worked on last summer, WebRanger. I get to accept it which is nice, especially since I did every stinking little thing on that project – I even made the music, such an over achiever,ha. I went from not knowing how to design anything for the web, to still not knowing exactly how I got it on the web. I wrote, produced, videoed, edited, voice overed, script wrote, cried a lot, wanted to kill myself at times, animated, scored, researched and finally got that bitch online. I’ll accept that award, hell ya. Oh, If you would like to become a Homestead WebRanger,or get a chuckle out of the pure cheese I produced, just go to www.nps.gov/home, scroll down on the home page and enter the activities there (DIRECT LINK). What I’m most proud of are a couple videos at the end of the Day In The Life activities. Oh, and the activities are supremely simple to do…but to a total pre-novice web design person – was the most difficult project I’ve ever successfully gotten through. Oh, and I’m in the project…a lot…shameless I know.

Just a few more days and my daily drive to Beatrice will be done for a while. I’m officially going intermittent status on August 15th. I was able to score some time working from home until baby decides to arrive. 24 hours a week, which is better than nothing at all.

I have a funny story about my Dad. Sorry Dad, but this has to be told. Anyway, Dad had gotten a Smart Car about a year ago. It is one of those teeny tiny cars you see that look like an egg on wheels. Let’s just say that dad’s track record with buying unique money saving items has been, well, rocky to say the least. Someday I’ll relay the Happy Feet shoes investment, or the Flobee debacle, but for now the Smart Car is current news.

Basically, here’s the story. Dad hit a raccoon…and it totaled the car. Seriously. The wise investment is a total lemon. He will never ever admit it, in fact he said he’s put 20,000 miles on that car and it was the best 20,000 miles in his life. I can’t help but laugh when I think how detrimental a raccoon can really be. There is another story about a raccoon and Dad’s Harley back in the day…but, again that’s for another time.

So…now what? I am 37 weeks today, which means baby can arrive anytime now. I feel no different for the most part. I went to the midwife today and baby is laying caddywompis. Basically he is head down, but he must have Steve’s height cause the kids legs are basically under my arm pit. Wonder when he’s going to arrive…probably my water will break when I’m accepting that award. That, indeed, would be quite noteworthy.

1 thought on “so…now what?”

  1. Well, that is good news…the part about accepting the award (not about your water breaking when you’re accepting the award). Please make sure that Steve takes video of the whole thing (and post it) so we can be proud of you from afar… I’m looking forward to my new grandson, and I’m glad that the pregnancy has been relatively easy for you…lets keep it that way and make it a relatively easy delivery. Call us when you want us to be there. OK, love you, and looking forward to seeing you guys soon! Mom
