Went and saw The Dark Knight this afternoon with Ed. I was surprised he hadn’t seen it already with his wife when it first came out. It was pretty good I suppose. From all the talk I was expecting it to be a lot darker. One thing that kind of ruined the whole movie for me was the fact that Maggie Gyllenhaal was cast as the leading lady. I don’t get it. She is such a fug yet they are all wanting to get on her and calling her beautiful and it just killed the movie for me. She’s like some kind of human-turtle cross breed and isn’t attractive in any way. She should never ever be cast as a leading lady, maybe as an ugly friend or something. Also what’s with Christian Bale’s voice when he’s in the batman suit? I know they are trying to be all dark and stuff but eventually you get to a point where it sounds more stupid than dark and scary. Heath Ledger as the joker however was magnificent. He really pulled off the paranoid schizophrenic role to a tee. If he doesn’t get a posthumous Oscar for best actor it would be a huge mistake. Overall I give the movie 4 stars out of 5.
Other than that I don’t have much. I haven’t been sleeping well lately. I’m all out of sync for some reason and can’t sleep when I need to be sleeping. Classes haven’t started yet but I have had to to the introductory orientation stuff to make sure I am fully capable and understand how to take online classes. Now I remember how mind numbing it is and how much I hate it and I haven’t even started yet. Crapola.
Not that this has anything to do with your posting on The Dark Knight, but day 6 on the daily beard album looks the most relaxed. The rest look about the same, except for the hat. How many hats do you own?
The beard is getting interesting!!! At least it now looks like a beard. Hey, it is looking good.
They look about the same because… well you’re watching hair grow. It only grows so fast. About a half inch a month is all. As for the hats. I own many. I buy new hats all the time for some reason and never end up wearing most of them because they don’t end up fitting right on my gigantic melon head. I like this new cubs one though. Pretty comfortable, even though I’m not a baseball fan and don’t follow the cubs. And grandma, as for it being interesting… it is not. It’s kind of a microcosm of my entire life. “It’s so boring it’s like watching hair grow.”
