Title.

No clever title today. I’m at work. I feel like crap. Not crap really, I’ve been feeling lightheaded and dizzy ever since I woke up though and it’s starting to suck. I’ve been feeling like dognuts for the last couple weeks now. Probably has something to do with the weather. We had our first snow of the year and the roads were a lot worse than I thought they would be. I almost got sucked off the road a couple times by all the sloppy slush while driving in to work. The day before that it rained that miserably cold rain that just chills you to the bone. Doesn’t help that I got caught out in it without all my gear on and got soaked to the skin from the tips of my toes all the way up to my belt. My cockenballs shrunk and went internal. That’s the way it always goes. You don’t put your gear on because the weather is fine but then you get caught in a sudden burst of rain while you are in the middle of doing something and can’t get away. Oh well that was last week, this week I’m on my first day of riding phones. Whoops… fire suppression system went off and flooded a hangar, fire department is here, everybody and their mother is lighting up every line I’ve got. It’s a goddamn emergency! Like I told Ed, it can always get worse, and it usually does.

Jessica and I have started exercising again. We are shooting for an hour of something per day, six days per week. Doesn’t matter what, just get our asses moving. I just weighed myself and I’m at the heaviest I’ve ever been in my entire life. Sunday we ran/walked for an hour at the lake. Yesterday I wasn’t feeling well so I just walked on the treadmill for a half hour and Jess decided that she would have Monday be her day off every week. I think I will choose Sundays for mine.

Got a new home phone service, the NetTalk DUO. It costs $70 for the box and the first year of service, and $30 a year after that. You just plug it into your router and then hook up a normal phone and you are good to go. I was using the MagicJack for the same thing for a little bit cheaper but they have lost a little bit of their allure lately because of the pissing match they are in with Frontier Communications about the fees they are charging each other. They are saying that Frontier charges too much money to interconnect so they blocked me from calling anyone or receiving calls from anyone that uses their service. No big deal for people in other parts of the country but a good chunk of the people that I want to call around here have no choice but to use them so the MagicJack is pretty much worthless. That and it has the downside of having to be plugged into a computer that is always on. Got the NetTalk box yesterday and hooked it up and it all works great, Jessica used it to call her parents and it connected just fine. The downside is that I couldn’t get a Lincoln number, they had a bunch of other podunk town numbers in Nebraska available though, don’t know why they wouldn’t have the capitol of the state as well. I just went with an Omaha number. It doesn’t really matter anymore anyway. Most people use cell phones or services that don’t charge long distance fees like they used to. Jessica is probably going to cancel her expensive cell phone service like I did and go with the cheap prepaid for emergencies when she is out and just use the home phone for when she wants to gab. Sounds like a good plan to me, paying $100 a month or more for a cell phone is just ridiculous. If anyone cares the new home number is (402)408-7269.

  1. I guess that is an option, not really one that I care for though. If I could get all fat and bloated without all the negative things that come with it I would go for it because it’s sure a hell of a lot easier than doing the things that you need to do to not get all fat and bloated.

  2. I thought about that recently … my thought was that for me it’s been easier to stay in shape rather than to try to regain it once it’s gone. And, as I get older, I find that my metabolism goes downhill quickly (in just a few days!) if I don’t exercise.

It helps that I really do enjoy running … just wish that summer wasn’t so hot and winter wasn’t so cold.
