Yes I’m putting something up on the ancient blog that was started in 2005, no I’m not a Boomer, still Gen X. I’m just sick of how the entire ecosystem of the internet is now all in one place, Facebook, and I’m sick of the absolute cesspool of toxicity that it has become over the years. I had it deactivated for a while but I turned it back on while messing with this website trying to see if I could get the post syndication working again and of course people sent messages and communications that I completely missed because no one seems to communicate outside of it anymore. Frustrating. It was quite refreshing to not touch it for a while, to not have to see the endless stream of racism, stupid memes, links to easily debunked conspiracy theories, and occasionally even lies about how great everyone’s life is when they are just putting up a thin coat of spackle for the public to see over the shit show that is happening behind the scenes. So yea… I’m blowing the dust off this thing after last putting something up about 3 and a half years ago. The sad thing is that I have to post the link on Facebook if anyone is ever going to see it.
2020 is kind of a lost year isn’t it? My kids have pretty much been in the house for 6 months straight, Jessica has been home schooling them to keep the virus away from her parents and has been doing a great job with it. I can’t wait until there is a vaccine readily available so life can get back to normal. This year is going to be Jessica and I’s 10 year wedding anniversary and I wanted to do something big like go on a winter Caribbean cruise to celebrate but that obviously isn’t going to happen, can’t even go out to dinner really. Oh well, this too shall pass eventually.
I bought a motorcycle earlier this year, it’s an mild adventure style bike which is the kind of riding I’ve been thinking about doing for years. It’s a ride to the area where you’re going, do some off pavement riding on dirt roads and fire trails, and then ride back. The plan was for this year to get some miles under my belt since its been a while since I’ve ridden, do a shorter couple day trip this year, Adventure Palooza across part of Missouri to get my feet wet, and then next year do a big trip on the Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route, hopefully with some friends of mine from the Air Force that live in Colorado now. Unfortunately about a month before Adventure Palooza I hurt a disc in my back that has been injured since a car wreck about 20 years ago and had to cancel because I couldn’t ride. Ended up missing the last 2 months of good weather for riding and now its getting cold and the bike is sitting in the garage. Bummer. The back is just now getting to a pain level where is isn’t agony 24 hours a day. I was feeling pretty good a few days ago and decided that I felt like working out at the gym, that was a mistake because it made the pain flare up again pretty bad. I guess I just need to take it easy and walk, ride the exercise bike and lose some weight until I get in and probably have surgery done on it to get it fixed. Maybe I can do next years Adventure Palooza and then move on from there. Take care of your body kids.
I’ll leave it there for now, I’ll see if I can muster putting things on here on a regular basis again. It will make my mom happy anyway since I’m not doing Facebook for her to creep on anymore.
Yes! My oldest son loves me still! Even though he calls me a stalker LOL. I’m sorry your back bothers you like it does, and I hope you can get in to get it fixed. I was just thinking about my blog too, and not even sure how long it’s been since I wrote anything there. Maybe I’ll actually look at it…that is if I can remember the password. Love ya, bye for now. Mom
Also, I had a rude awakening this morning…that nasty 4 letter word is falling and turning everything white…I’m NOT READY!!!
